🚀 We're nearing one of the biggest aging conferences of the year, AARD 2024 in Copenhagen. I'm really looking forward to it—the lineup of speakers is incredible! Will I see you there?

Alright, that’s enough housekeeping - let’s turn our attention to this week’s podcast guest, Alexandra Stolzing!

”When I started, people called it a snake oil”

We are thrilled to bring you episode #5 of the LEVITY Podcast, featuring Alexandra Stolzing, a true pioneer in the field of aging biology (find it on Youtube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other places).

From senescent cells to cryopreservation and biomarkers of aging, Alexandra Stolzing's research is vast and groundbreaking. Her ultimate goal? Achieving longevity escape velocity—a milestone she believes is possible to reach.

As a Professor of Biogerontological Engineering at Loughborough University and former VP of Research at the SENS Research Foundation, Alexandra recalls the early days when her work was dismissed as ”snake oil”. Today, while the field has gained credibility, there's still much to be done to win the support of politicians and the public in the quest to solve aging.

In this episode, we discuss whether aging should be classified as a disease, how advanced AI models can accelerate progress, Alexandra's innovative work on breath-based biomarkers, the need for improved cryopreservation methods, and much more. Don’t miss our show notes below!
